Jeff Foley
About me
Jeff is a Researcher in the Sensor Networks Group (SNG) within the Pervasive ICT Research Centre of BT Group CTO. He received an MSc in Virtual Environments in 2001, and a BSc (honours) I.T. degree in 1999, both from The University of Salford. He joined BT in May 2001 and worked in CRM on eCo Broadband using Siebel 6. His prime interests are wireless sensor networks (WSN), data fusion, Sensor Web Enablement (SWE), GIS, human factors, personalisation & security, and Web design.
My work
Jeff worked with Paul Benyon on Service Management (WP6), and co-ordinated the successful completion of the two year 6FP
ePerSpace project, which involved 20 partners, including France Telecom (lead), University of Westminster, Telenor, Telefonica, NRK, University of Bristol, Siemens, and Moviquity.
He participated in the Eurescom
P1555 - Sensor Telcos project with Dr. Christopher Roadknight (BT), Telenor (lead) and Portugal Telecom.
He also contributed to the DTI project,
PIPES (Personalised Information from Prioritised Environmental Sensing) demo, which is led by Dr. Jane Tateson (BT) and involves Salamander, Severn Trent Water, University of Cambridge, and Imperial College London.
Jeff is currently working on the
Sensor Virtualisation project which will initially investigate how the
SWE standards from the
Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) could help streamline the creation of sensing/monitoring M2M applications. In conjunction with this project, he recently began studying for an
EngD at UCL entitled, "Data Fusion and Analysis in Sensor Networks and their Applications".
