Quite simply ‘How can BT offer its customers advanced personalised intelligent or context aware services with, without (or in spite of, in some cases) the current deployment of 3rd Generation mobile networks.’
The ultimate goal is integration that provides users with a simple, seamless and heterogeneous networking experience.
Example of specific activities include:-
- Mobility via heterogeneous networks (3G, WiFi, WiMAX)
- Mobility-related authentication, SIM and Smart Media
- Secure Pervasive Information Architecture and Personal Communication Environments
- Modelling of complex networks
- Mobility as an ICT enabler… Identity, Entitlement and Trust
- BT Line of Business consultancy – including enablers for B3G services
The UK team works closely with
BT's Asian Research Centre, its sister Lab in Malaysia.
The Mobility Research Centre is involved in EU, DTI and EU projects and has links with numerous universities working closely with a smaller number as well as relationships with industrial partners like Vodafone, Samsung and Sharp.
