Andrew Hardwick
Biography
Andrew Hardwick graduated from Cambridge University with a 1st class honours degree in Natural Sciences in 1991 and obtained a PhD from the Cavendish Physics Laboratory in Cambridge. His doctoral research, into acoustic bubble measurement sponsored by the petroleum industry, was completed in 1994.
Since joining BT Laboratories in 1995, he has contributed to leading-edge solutions research including simulated physics for haptic computer interfaces and mechanical robots controlled over telecommunication networks. He was also responsible for the integration of the varied components in the SmartSpace project that provided its multimedia capability.
He has published a number of academic papers in the diverse areas of
computational haptics, experimental underwater acoustics and theoretical
chemistry.
