MSC Malaysia- BT Digital Lifestyle Programme
The MSC Malaysia – British Telecom Digital Lifestyle Programme is BTMM’s latest innovation lighthouse initiative.
This unique programme is an alliance between MSC Malaysia – British Telecom (BT) Multimedia. MSC Malaysia is a dynamic ICT hub, hosting more than 900 multinationals, foreign-owned and home-grown Malaysian companies. This initiative is aimed at spurring the growth of broadband usage in Malaysia through the adoption of leading-edge, broadband-based products and services.
The first of its kind in Malaysia, the MSC-BT Digital Lifestyle Programme sees BT working in collaboration with Malaysian ICT-based small and medium sized enterprises to create and develop new broadband-based products and services, aimed at generating new-wave revenues. The Programme does away with the conventional product R&D and commercialisation model that is costly and time-consuming, not to mention the high degree of risks involved in terms of changes in today’s consumer preferences, market dynamics and technology shifts.
Through the MSC Malaysia – British Telecom Digital Lifestyle Programme, BT Multimedia will leverage research on future trends and user requirements conducted by its scientists, engineers and developers globally to conceptualise new products and services, focusing on advanced broadband and convergence areas. These will then be used to create high-value proof-of-concept prototypes of next-generation broadband-based products and services.
Malaysian ICT-based SMEs will then be invited to adopt these prototypes and further develop them to the point of commercialisation. A total of 24 Prototypes will be down-streamed into the programme over the period of two years. There will also be a structured technology transfer programme put in place to enable the rapid familiarization of these prototypes within a short duration.

The ‘Innovation in Action Showcase’ offers a window to a selection of BT’s innovation, encompassing technologies and concepts across personal and professional lifestyles, as well as future state of business. Being the only showcase outside Europe, this showcase provides a unique opportunity to customers in this region to experience the 'possibilities of tomorrow' today by leveraging on reusable building blocks, called common capabilities, on the global 21CN innovation platform.
